June 2018 Stitch Fix (Plus Size)

My Stitch Fix box has arrived and let me tell you my feelings from the post office home: I was nervous! My fixes lately have been less than stellar. I was all set with a stylist, I was giving her awesome feedback, and then she dumped me. We were working together for about 9 boxes, and the tenth or eleventh box came in and it wasn't her. Man, now I'm at a place where I have to tell the stylists over and over and over again my basic expectations for my fixes:
  • It is hot AF on Okinawa so light, breathable fabrics are a must!
  • Clothing must be loose enough to hide my FUPA! Fo'realzies.
  • I volunteer with an international organization so modesty is a key factor in all clothing items.
  • Dresses knee length or longer.
  • Nothing body-con, because honestly, I won't even wear that around the house.
Who would my stylist be this month? Would the understand the basics of what I was looking for? Would I love everything in my box or hate it? I got home and decided to tear on into my box and see what goodies awaited me!

Living overseas I have the advantage of seeing the names and prices of everything written out on the customs form. I try my hardest not to look, but did see where there was going to be two jersey dresses. ALL THE EYE ROLL EMOJI *HERE* FRIENDS. Jersey fabric, and it not be clingy, and it be light weight? I just don't think so. But, I went into the box with a positive mind.

Ok. Judging from the style card, it looked like there were going to be some cute pieces that I would fall in love with if they fit me properly! I was actually really excited about trying on everything in this box! I am for sure not a fashion blogger, so get ready to see some super awkward self timer iPhone pictures!

Wowzers. These shorts are a little snug, but I have packed on more than a few pounds the last few months since hopping on the sugar express. I honestly think now that I am on Whole30 again and really dominating, that I wouldn't want to exchange them for a larger size- I think they'll fit in another month or two! Here in Okinawa, we have HOT weather until October, so I can see myself wearing shorts well into autumn. I think I'm going to keep these!

The shirt? It was snug as hell. I think it's supposed to be a light, airy, loose top, so I am going to try exchanging it for the next size up. Even as I lose the bloat, I would like a little more room in this one I think. Other than the sizing, I am totally in love with this piece!

In all honesty, even as I took this piece out of the box, I was upset that I did't include a note about not including tops with buttons. My chest is never at a size where buttons are a good look. However, man! I am really in love with this top and super divided over it. I think with a cute tank underneath and the top button undone, this will be a super cute top! So... I'm keeping it!

This dress felt like it was going to be a little heavy, but as soon as I had it on, I was in love with it! It fits like a dream, is a great length, and will look super cute with a little sweater over it once the weather starts to cool down! Definitely a winner going straight into my closet!

I don't really know how I feel about this one. I totally dig the colors and love the cut of it but would I honestly wear it? It could be great as a casual run to the post office dress or running errands dress. It is lightweight and feels airy! You know, you get the 25% discount when you buy all 5 pieces, so I think I will keep it, if for no other reason than snagging the discount, and will make it my dress that I force myself to wear during the week, maybe to lunch with girlfriends or volunteering!

So, there you have my June Stitch Fix! If you want to try Stitch Fix, you can use my referral code where you can get a box of five fun items without paying the styling fee! When you use my link, I'll get a $25 referral credit.
